'I gave this Grief Journal to a friend who is devastated at the sudden loss of a friend of hers.'

Vikki was overseas in June 2020 when her son Ryan (22) told her that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She plans to publish a memoir called 'Collateral Love' about the unexpected spiritual gifts that have come from the most unenviable experience a parent can imagine, let alone endure.

Vikki looks back at the time after Ryan died and describes herself as being 'the goop that she imagines a chrysalis is before it becomes a butterfly.' She learned to be okay with 'Being'; with feeling 'formless' and 'deconstructed' and of realising - and accepting - that her axis had shifted.
